You can hear the devastating impact of PTSD from the voices of vets here, as well as the profound impact Puppies Behind Bars has on their lives.
‘Dog Tags: Service Dogs for Those Who’ve Served Us’ was established by PBB with the goal of ‘training prison inmates to raise service dogs for wounded war veterans.’ The program aims to match a veteran with a dog after a 16 day training with the inmate/dog handler, dog and veteran.
A successful match pairs a veteran with a very special psychiatric service dog, trained in five specific commands for PTSD help. All funds raised in Andrew’s name will go towards the training of a psychiatric service dog for a veteran with PTSD.
